Smiles

Over the span of my adult life, I have observed that the majority of our communications are non-verbal. We nod, shrug, lift our eyes, raise our hands, gesture with a movement of our bodies and communicate a host of emotions with our bodies rather than our mouths. I have learned that I communicate much of my attitude through these non-verbal cues that I may or may not be aware of.

What is the #1, impactful non-verbal cue you can have on another person? The answer is simple – a SMILE!! The power of a smile in the scope of your day can alter the path of a person’s life and change them in ways you will never imagine. It takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown. If someone doesn’t have a smile give them one of yours. People who smile more, live longer and have more positive attitudes. Never judge a person’s face when you don’t know the condition of their heart. The warmth of a smile speaks volumes in ways that words do not come close to equaling.

My prayer for you today is that you will both give and receive more smiles and feel the warmth of humanness in your heart and soul.
