Journey – How many times have we heard Steven Tyler’s slogan, “Life’s a journey, not a destination.” Is that true in your life? It is in mine. The road of my life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet my lessons come from the journey, not the destination. The journey is a quiet reminder to savor each moment. I need to slow down long enough to learn how to journey and not what my arrival time is. I will get there in the right time when I am journeying.
Knowledge – What is knowledge? John Locke defined knowledge as: “Knowledge is the perception of the agreement or disagreement of two ideas.” By definition this is made up of the content and the experience within which the content is acquired. The use of or framework of the knowledge we acquire attaches huge significance to the means I use to evaluate the experience. I bring prior knowledge as a filter through which I evaluate new experiences to grow my database of knowledge. How do you acquire and process new experiences into your knowledge banks?
Love – I know, couldn’t he think of something else. The answer is a resounding NO. My day begins and ends with feelings of love for myself as when I love me, I can love everything and everyone around me. If I am devoid of love, I will spend each day in judgment and criticism of myself and others. So, LOVE was my only choice for my acrostic. What is yours?
My prayer for you today is that you will find your journey based on your knowledge and you love all that you experience.
