Love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking together in the same direction. Antoine De Saint-Exupery
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (29 June 1900—31 July 1944) was a Frenchwriterand aviator. He is most famous for his novella The Little Prince, and is also well known for his books about aviation adventures, including Night Flight and Wind, Sand and Stars.
There is so much written about love that it is virtually impossible to cover it all in a brief daily message. Suffice it to say though; there is much that can be said briefly. I have learned as have many of you that love is so much more than the lust or passion we feel at the beginning. Love is so much more than gazing with awe at your partner. Love is so much more than just another person. Love is a place I allow myself to go today that envelops me and provides me with my faith, safety, trust and joy. As a result of this gift from God, I have a capacity to give what has been so freely given to me.
Loving is a state of total acceptance and respect for yourself and your partner. It is sharing your life’s journey with a person moving in a similar direction as you who you trust, can rely on and know intuitively that they have your back every step of the way. There is an intimacy in that kind of love that exceeds all others. To love and be loved without exception is a gift very few of us ever experience. My experience is that so few of us get to feel the joy of unconditional love because the healing that has to occur is both time consuming and painful. For me to love me completely today, I had to journey through the hurts, abuses, negative tapes and ridicule to a place of affirmation, acceptance, respect and faith.
My prayer for you is that you commence your healing toward unconditional self love and experience the joy of loving yourself enough to allow another to join your journey.
