“When you see a thing clearly in your mind, your creative “success mechanism” within you takes over and does the job much better than you could do it by conscious effort or “willpower” – Maxwell Maltz – Surgeon and Founder of Psycho-CyberneticsWillpower

Willpower is a word that we frequently use with negative meanings, values and interpretations, when in fact; it is an amazingly positive word.

Think of the “will” “power” that you posses to accomplish something. Right now, it is your will power that has you reading each word in this message. Forget the lack of will power you have over a brownie, ice cream, a purse or new car and begin to zero in on the amount of will power you have to accomplish whatever it is that you are seeking. There is nothing you cannot do if you take your will power and put it to use in your life.

I have learned in my nearly 25 years in recovery that my will has upsides and benefits as well as limits. God (whatever that means for you) as I understand God, wants me to have a “will”, use my will for acts of kindness, compassion, healing, teaching and more. By leading me spiritually to becoming a rabbi and Spiritual Counselor, God has certainly entrusted me with use of my will in ways I could have never imagined.

God has forgiven me for the downside of my will and the harm I may have caused during my years of active addiction. God blessed me by removing my obsession to drink/drug and allowed me to use my new found will for positive, ethical and spiritual gain.

The greater your acceptance of your will power, the greater your success will be and the greater your feelings of self worth will be and the greater you will feel about you. Everything will be greater when you commence seeing that your will power is inside you waiting to burst out with joy and fulfillment. Stop keeping it hidden from yourself and let the rest of us enjoy it with you. Your will power will give rise to another’s and another’s and before you know it, everyone that you know will be living their lives with their joyful will power. That will be a WOW moment.

My prayer for you today is that you find your will power, give life to it and make it work in your life with faith, hope and endless joy.

Hugs and Blessings,
Rabbi Mitch
